These bath salt recipes might be my easiest DIY projects ever. I tried a couple variations, but found that the most simple was my favorite. When I was ingredient shopping, I grabbed the wrong bag of Epsom salt by accident. I thought I was grabbing the plain stuff; but the one that ended up coming home with me said “therapy soak” on it. Turns out that it’s infused with mint oils (spearmint, peppermint and rosemary, to be precise). It smells fantastic on it’s own. But I wanted to spiff it up a bit further. I tossed in a bit of citrus zest and a spritz of coconut oil and this DIY was done in under five minutes!
Lemon Mint Bath Salt Recipe
- Zest of one lemon
- 1 Cup epsom salt (either the plain salt, or “therapy soak” version works great!)
- Optional: any combination of minty essential oils (rosemary, peppermint, spearmint, etc.)
All you have to do for this bath salt recipe is stir everything together! Top it off with a spritz of coconut oil spray and you’re good to go! I packaged these in some cute glass vials I picked up at The Container Store; so they’ll make great little gifts!
Coconut Lime Bath Salt Recipe
- Zest of one lime
- 1 C. epsom salt
- Coconut Oil (1 tsp.)
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. If your bath salts are too damp from the coconut oil, you can leave the mixture uncovered in a bowl overnight. After it’s dried out, package it up in an airtight container, and you’re all set. I found that after the bath salts were packaged overnight, the scents really combined and created an even better, therapeutic, relaxing experience. These also work great as a foot soak after a long day of being on your feet.
